Baby You've Got Style

Baby Fashions influence is about style and function. With the recent boom of baby fashions and accessories, our editors at Baby Creation Boutique love their roles of selecting the best fashions for baby.

According to statistics in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, women are having children later in life, many when they've established an education, career and disposable income, making them the hottest demographic on the market.

Baby high-end fashion is “hot on the market” and many design houses are jumping into the Baby fashion market to appeal to the high-end fashion family crowd. The new breed of moms are a sophisticated, savvy bunch, says Julia Jacobs-Sanford, who launched, Creation Baby Boutique Expo, a few years ago after having a baby in her 30’s. "Having kids is a life-altering, new exciting thing, especially for women who are used to being in control of their lives and bodies or are coming from the corporate ladder of success."

Julia Jacobs-Sanford was in Chicago last weekend to commentate at The Creation Baby Boutique Baby Expo and http://www.babycreationboutique.com/ Fashion Show, at Lakeshore Athletic Club. Savvy Moms strutted the runway with their infants in the latest baby slings, toddlers walked their first run way and smiled in the latest fall baby fashions, and pregnant Mom's wore the latest fall fashions from "A Pea In The Pod." Barbara Sheehan Segal, Publisher of the online baby magazine BabyCreationBoutique.com says, "the boom in products for babies, young children and parents is largely mom-generated."

"Hip, Savvy, Mom-preneurs are driving this market," says Julia Jacobs- Sanford. You have a huge group of professional women seeing a need and creating more interesting useful products than ever before." The booths at the, Creation Baby Boutique Expo were dominated by women with small business ideas ranging from children’s videos, games, adoption, educational products, designer clothing, organic products and clothing, to booties and shoes.

CREATION: THE BABY BOUTIQUE EXPO was founded Julia Jacobs-Sanford, herself a new mother. She is producing it at Lakeshore in conjunction with Candice Kuhnen of ABC Communications. Julia, who has produced three previous baby expos in the past year, felt the need for someplace that would inspire, educate and excite her as a “Modern Mom.” She came up with the idea for CREATION: THE BABY BOUTIQUE EXPO to bring together some of the finest individuals and organizations in the Chicago area to showcase their products and services for all of Chicago’s modern moms.”

The previous expos were held in Skokie, Chicago and Northbrook. There will also be an expo October 7 in Orland Park.

Says Julia, “We are extremely selective about who exhibits. We just don’t have the room to accommodate everyone. I am thrilled and deeply flattered with the response from those who have attended and those who want to showcase their merchandise and activities.”

In addition to great shopping opportunities and all-day entertainment, one of the significant components of all CREATION: THE BABY BOUTIQUE EXPOS is education. Julia’s goal is to provide new and expecting moms with the opportunity to network and to speak with experts.
